A Taste of What We Do
We've included in this section a number of past projects, to give an idea of the range we can accomodate. Of course, each project is entirely unique, and we are happy to meet any specific requirements you may have — these sites are all designed roughly to client specs, and we pride ourselves on our ability to meet whatever criteria you set out.
Kalisti.com
The redesign of Kalisti Web Design presented a challenge by requiring four distinct designs which were all built on the same xhtml document. The site itself was small, with a limited amount of content, which considerably reduced the amount of debugging and compatibility testing, which otherwise could have been overwhelming for four full designs. Each of the designs was done with a different aesthetic in mind, and each build entailed equivilant work to a full site (with the reuse of content being balanced with the difficulties posed by the multiple-style challenge). As a whole, the pricetag for this site was
$7000. Taken seperately, any one of the site designs and implementations would have fallen under the category of a
basic site design, costing approximately
$3000 each.
I built this site in the winter of 2002 for a local contracting company. They gave me general design concepts which I translated to a web medium, and then we went back and forth tweaking things to their liking. While many of my original design choices were changed over the process of creating the site, I respect their position as the owner's of the business and attempted to make the site hold as closely to their vision as possible, while remaining versitile on the web. With a basic design, and a few extras such as a message board and roll-overs, this page is a good example of our
basic site design, costing
$3000. While this site isn't built to absolute accessibility guidelines because of its age, it could be brought up to spec with a minimum of work if the clients so desired.
This was a personal site done as a side project early in 2003. Ultimately it never went live, due to a lack of interest and time on my part, but the page itself was completed and debugged. It integrates inset-frames to get a certain look, and has small Flash effects for feel. A structure like this would fit under our
basic site design, with a bit of extra overhead for the extra pages, costing approximately
$4000. Once the basic template has been built (what is currently up), adding additional pages (such as reviews) would be a minimal cost, at perhaps
$50 for each extra page.
This was a site done for a volunteer organization based in Ghana. The job required a fairly basic site, with a few pages of information, some pictures, and an application form. The site was originally created in early 2002. In late 2003 the site was brought up to w3 specs to allow for faster download times, greater compatibility, and easier updates. A site of this scope would cost approximately
$3000 as it fits nicely under our
basic site design plan. Updating a site of this size which was already created by another web designer, to bring it up to modern standards, would cost approximately
$2000.
Danaae.com
For Danaae.com the client wanted something that conveyed a professional, functional site, which at the same time made use of colors and images to express the creative site of the company. The site is built to provide both an ecommerce function, as well as a community meeting place for jeweling enthusiasts. As a result, the site needed to incorporate such features as a message board, tutorials, and columns. This site fit the bill neatly for our
ecommerce package, with a mid-sized amount of products and a number of extra features. Because of added functionality, expanded interfacing between the shopping cart and the site layout, and design changes the client desired, the final price for this design was slightly higher than the bundled ecommerce package, at
$8000.
